On Leadership
Born and true leaders are selfless. They realize and understand that they can only succeed if their team succeeds in tandem. The frauds and egocentric wannabes are selfish, who only want to succeed at the expense of others. They tend to replace people without realizing their potential to help them. In doing so, they put themselves in the queue to be replaced …

Enlightenment does not mean you will be wise, happy or tranquil. It means you're wisdom, happiness and tranquility in itself ... A simple example, say, you receive a large monetary windfall and become very happy, and the feeling lasts until the money runs out. That's the happiness most of us refer to. When you're enlightened, you are the feeling itself that is not attached to or need anything to generate it. Same as in wisdom, tranquility and the rest.

The human mind has the habit of conjuring up reasons for not doing things that it believes does not yield benefits to the self. It’s normally a by-product of procrastination, laziness and attachment to unfounded principles. It often takes a mistake for one to realize what one should have or should not have done …

The power to create good is a divine gift, the generosity to allow others to partake is a blessing and the growth of compassion within is an endowment. To achieve our goals, focus on the right means and not the end. Then, there will be no room for disappointment in our hearts, but plenty of room for hope in our spirits. We’ll then be able to see the causes of failure and this visionary wisdom will guide us through life.

Is your life worth living? Take this simple test and be honest. Get a month calendar and at the end of each day, put a “tick” on the date/day if it’s good, a “cross” if it’s bad and a circle if it’s neither. At the end of the month count the number of markings. Remember, more positive things are achieved on good days, you are at peace with yourself on the “neither” days and probably stressed on bad days. When days become months and months become years, you’ll get the answer.

In any work place, one may be fully qualified but professionalism demands working well with people. In dealing with people, to build is to introduce positive changes gradually and not instantaneously demolishing existing systems and replace. Similarly, you can’t motivate people if more than half of them whom you’re intending to don’t like your face.

On Motivation and Inspiring People
Often in our work or life, it is very difficult to motivate and inspire the people we intend to if they don’t like, agree or get along with us. It’s due to the preset image they have of us. Most of us don’t realize that and are unable to understand why we don’t succeed. Our image precedes us and if we have no positive track record to show, our credibility is often questioned. The solution is not readily found in the problem. So, we need to “reformat”; to make ourselves “likeable”. This can only be done by caring for, sharing with and helping others without any negative agendas. Most of us tend to argue that it is others who are bad and will always take advantage and/or pick on our weaknesses and do us in. Not so. It is we, who are unconsciously doing that. If we can be aware of that and accept it, we should then make it a point to correct ourselves. We would be surprise how soon we can see the results.

On Happiness & Sadness
It’s not a question of being happy or sad; it's a question of making what you think or feel happiness is last as long as possible, and that of sadness, as short as possible.
Happiness that is derived from simple things or situations lasts and stays longer than from complex ones. This is primarily due to the abundance of the simple things within our reach that can make us happy. It is our minds (when tinted with greed and steered by our ego) that make happiness a convoluted issue. We fail to realize that the more intense the feeling of happiness, the shorter will be its duration. An untrained mind doesn’t recognize that the low intensity feeling of happiness has a longer duration. Those who have undergone self-realization will appreciate the simplicity in the nature of happiness. Otherwise, it’s easy to conclude that the feeling of sadness always lasts longer than happiness because our minds are more aware of the pain and suffering related to it rather than the ecstasy related to happiness. That’s why happiness is often said to be “fleeting”. The inevitability of change and problems that are part of our daily lives add further dimensions to the incidence of our happiness and sadness. Those who are able to see, understand and accept such nature of things will take a positive stand and choose the right path. The result? They will experience a more pronounced and prolonged feeling of happiness. They’re blessed …
